Louisiana State is long and colorful history, from long before it became a state in 1812. Have shown, the first responsibility for that area, was among the French, when the area came under French crown in 1731. But in 1763, joined the French in the territory of the Spanish after the French and Indian Wars.
The region was again under French control for a brief period at the turn of the century, but Napoleon sold it to the United States after a few short years. Itwas at this point in the history of Louisiana begins with the entrance into the union not long after.
The history of Louisiana is the contribution of many of our natural resources today, including natural gas and petroleum. Many plants are also in Louisiana, where some of the most popular are sugar cane and cotton.
Other crops are sweet potatoes, rice and soybeans. The city of New Orleans is a popular tourist destination, with millionsFlocking to the annual Mardi Gras celebrations find, and many more come to the picturesque French Quarter, enjoy delicious cuisine and diverse entertainment in the southern region.
In August 2005 a devastating Hurricane Katrina left a path of destruction in Louisiana, particularly in the area of New Orleans. This dark spot in the history of Louisiana is slowly but surely overcoming, with construction and development occurring all the time. However, it isstill take some time, this great city to its rightful place as the crown jewel of the history of Louisiana.
